David Hockney

The Cubist Period occurred during the 20th century. It is credited by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque between the years of 1907 and 1914. The aspects that make Cubist Artwork is it emphasizes flat two-dimensional surface of what one is painting on, and can see many different different perspectives as well. It rejects numerous traditional techniques such as perspective, foreshortening, modeling, and chiaroscuro. It also does not follow the theory of art as the imitation of nature.
David Hockney is a British painter, draughtsman, printmaker, photographer, and designer. In the mid 20’s he achieved international success and is now known as one of the best known British artists of his generation. David Hockney has very Cubist elements in his work. They are very flat and focus of the two-dimension of the flat surface it was painted on and includes many angles of his subjects. I think he was influenced by Pablo Picasso. I can see this because both their work has the same emphasized two-dimensional flat look to it, but still being able to see many angles of the subjects. Hockney had different angles on the same plane like Picasso's face work.
